Camping in the Binn Valley

The Binn Valley, one of the side valleys of the Canton Wallis, stands out through the beauty of its landscape, the diversity of its vegetation and of its animal life and its rare minerals, known all over the world. Since 1964, it is a protected nature reserve. With 150km of well-maintained mountain paths, well away from the pres-sures of our hectic time, it is a hiker’s paradise.

In the hamlet of Giessen, 2km from the pretty Walliser village of Binn, lies the camping site, 1450m. above sea level, on the banks of the Binna river. The site - about seven and a half acres - has been left to nature, and is covered in part by alder trees and pines. Its equipment is much appreciated by the campers: warm water showers, electricity, modern refuse col-lection, etc. During the summer season, from May 1 to October 15, it is a meeting place for mineral collectors, botanists, hikers and nature-loving families from all over the world. For all of them, the camping site is the perfect base for exploring this romantic mountain valley.

Are you a nature lover and do you enjoy hiking trips in the mountains? Do you like to relax in unspoiled nature?
You will be delighted by your holidays in the Binn Valley!
